Re: Back to normal ;)

Hi Tibi, Glad you have had success restoring the old database. I was afraid that people who had contributed to the vrwave forum would have been reluctant to continue doing so in fear of it being a waste of time if it was all going to vanish into the ether. Hopefully you have things in place for such...

Re: Canon 8-15mm Fisheye

Kelly,

Seeing you already have purchased the lens, I'm willing to assist you and confirm your settings if you like.
Just make a set of images available for download. Shot using -15 degrees tilt down as I have outlined in my tutorial.

Regards, Smooth 8-)

Re: Canon 8-15mm Fisheye

John Houghton posted a download link via the Panoguide forum of a set of .CR2 RAW files shot at 8mm on a fullsize sensor Canon camera. Follow the Panoguide thread link for more information. I must say, shooting at 8mm on a full size sensor is simply a waste of pixels and not what I would drop $1500 ...

Re: Canon 8-15mm Fisheye

Having "numbers" quoted to you is a very poor way to set the No Parallax Point of the lens. You should put the effort in to learn how to set up any lens from scratch using a multitude of tutorials. Here are the links: Zoning in on perfect (NPP) via Nadir view The Grid Finding the NPP Once ...

Re: On determining the best exposure

Yes, you understand this correctly. But shooting RAW and knowing how to process the images correctly should allow you to cover for up to 3 stops. So you need to work out the priority, is it the highlights or the shadows? Typically I shoot -1ev and of course RAW. But for me shadows are less important...

Re: Sony NEX + $125.00 Sony Fisheye Converter Lens

Did you remove the chromatic aberration from your images? I can't believe how well it handles CA. The images were processed to remove chromatic aberration and vignetting before stitching, yes. If you like you can download one of the RAW files and take a better look. http://www.omnipix.net/temp/nex/...
