Horizontal Pole Panorama from 300+ feet

Postby Bill Bailey » Mon Apr 25, 2011 4:57 pm

Thought I would share a pole panorama I did last Dec. I'm the first to admit it's certainly far from perfect and NOT seeking criticism. It is a fun panorama however that shows what is possible.
The panorama was shoot from the 31st floor of the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Dangling out a D700 with 10.5 on Nodal Ninja R1 at the end of a 30ft pole tends to get the adrenaline going. Also the winds were blowing and the pole was swinging from side to side and up and down. We're going back again next weekend to try it all over - this time from the 61st floor (if all goes well).

Hey Bill,

Welcome to the forum!

It's a great pano, the view is incredible ... and I really like the Cosmopolitan billboard Easter egg you included :D

Good luck with shooting from the 61st floor. Let us know how it goes.

thx Tibi - it's certainly far from acceptable (at least to paying clients and the pro's) but thought it still worthy of showing.
And congrats on taking your website to the next level.
Cheers
Bill

ps - ahh you found the egg ;)

Link to cosmo2 may be dead, but there's now http://www.circularworlds.com/panos/cosmo3.html, which looks good.
